{WifeStyle} Table Linens

On most nights, we are all about the paper napkin. But, when I host a diner party, napkins are an essential part of the table decor. Just like fashion, table linens can be as simple as the LBD or make a major statement. Here are a few new table linens to dress up your next dinner party.

1. Border Stripe Dye Yarn Napkins $16 at westelm.com are crisp, clean, and classic.

2. Chilewich Animal Print Placement Collection $20 at Macys. Add these animal-print placements on top of a solid brown tablecloth for a whimsy touch.

3. Gilt Chevron Printed Table Runner $36 at anthropologie.com. This disposable table runner is sparkly and fun for a festive and entertaining night.

{WifeStyle} How to Arrange Roses

Nothing quite beats fresh flowers in your home. One of my favorite flowers to bring home is the rose – pink, white, or yellow. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on roses to make an impact. The key is how you arrange roses in a vase. Here’s my simple wifestyle trick for a professional-looking way to arrange roses.

First, invest in a pretty rose vase. Rose vases like the one featured above are smaller and ideal for denser arrangements, which make a big impact. Shorter vases, or rose bowls, also showcase the top part of the rose, the prettiest part, best. To create the most graceful grouping, take thin strips of masking tape to form a grid across your vase. This helps create a “mound” that helps the roses stay put and close together for maximum impact. Now, get to arranging your roses. Start by cutting all the leaves and thorns off your stems. Continue to cut your stems according to the size of the vase. Even if you snip to short, the blooms will support one another in a more compact, fuller arrangement. Remove the top leaf of your rose for the freshest color to show.

{WifeStyle} Ocean Decor

Favorite place: the ocean. Favorite way to decorate: coastal chic. There’s something so relaxing about blue walls, nautical accents, and natural fabrics and elements like sisal and driftwood. No matter if you’re seaside or countryside, here are some ways you can add ocean decor to your home.

1.  Michael Aram Ocean Lion’s Paw Bowl $350 at Bloomingdales – use this gorgeous bowl as a centerpiece to hold fruit or as a decorative accent on a side table.

2. Serena & Lilly Two-Toned Ratan Lanterns $28-88 at serenandlilly.com – create mood at your next dinner party with these natural rattan lanterns.

3. Kim Seybert Coral Branch Napkin Rings $80 at frontgate.com – when it comes to ocean-inspired decor, Kim Seybert is my favorite designer. From napkin rings to table runners, her style is sophisticated and unique. These coral napkin rings will make basic white napkins look great.

4. Anthropologie From the Deep Dinner Plate $14-24 at anthropologie.com – buy just the salad plate to turn your everyday white dishes into a seaside escape.

Dress Your Desk

No matter if you work from home or in an actual work space, having a pretty office environment is essential to be creative, organized, and on top of things. Even if you’re working with the smallest desk in a corner of your bedroom, you can still make it super efficient with the right office essentials. Of course, functioning office supplies are important. But, having office supplies for your desk that also dress it up helps make your work day fly and production soar. Here are easy ways to dress your desk.

1. Chair – Boss Modern Office Chair $129 at globalindustrial.com.

2. Folders – Kate Spade Gold Stripe File Folders $19 at urbangirl.com.

3. Scissors – Gold Scissors Pin $3.99 at pinmart.com.

4. Stapler – Kantek Clear Acrylic Stapler $11.88 at officesupply.com.
