{Dress Gorgeously} Rainy Day Fashion

Even though it’s spring, the rain doesn’t seem to end. I love a rainy day…when I am home and in bed. On days when you have to venture out in the rain, not so much fun. That’s why having the best rain gear is essential to staying dry and look good even when it’s a monsoon out there. Spring rain calls for spring rain gear. So here are a few ideas for rainy day fashion.

1. Totes Clear Bubble Umbrella $16.99 at Target  – it’s bubble shape keeps rain from hitting you and helps protect your hair even more. I love that it’s clear so it won’t clash with your outfit.

2. Hunter Short Gloss Boots $82 at Zappos.com – a shorter version of the original Hunters, these are perfect for a spring shower. Brighter, pastels are equally fun for spring.

3. Coincidence & Chance Rain Slicker $79 at Urban Outfitters – looks cute with shorter spring dresses, skirts, and shorts.

4. San Diego Hat Company Packable Rain Hat $48 at Zappos.com – a rain hat is a must to protect your blowout. The floral print is fun for spring.

{Dress Gorgeously} Denim Jackets

Whether you’re 18 or 81, a denim jacket is a staple everyone should have in their wardrobe. Since they don’t change style all that much you can probably wear the same denim jacket you purchased at 18 when you’re 81. I’ve always been a fan of a good denim jacket. Finding one that fits just right, has cushiony-feeling denim and works with all of your outfits really is priceless. I remember scouring the mall with my mother to find my perfect denim jacket back in the day for back-to-school shopping. Once I found the one, I lived in it. I still have that jacket today, if you can believe it.

Recently I decided it was time to upgrade my denim jacket. I went with the splurge below – AG Robyn Denim Jacket $198. This is the perfect blend of denim – soft, snuggly, and fits your body to a T. It’s also ideal for summer because it’s lightweight and feels almost like a shirt. You can wear it with anything from white jeans to a dress or even over my sports bra running to the gym in the AM. If you don’t want to spend a fortune on a denim jacket, check out this one from H&M. Equally comfortable and chic, plus a lighter wash for summer days.

{Dress Gorgeously} Camo Chic

Normally reserved for the battlefield, camo is taking on a life of its own in the streets of NYC this spring. It’s everywhere. From shoes to jackets and bags. Why not? We’re all in our own battle with something somehow or another, right? That’s not the real reason why. It’s actually considered a neutral and staple in your closet. Plus, camo is feminine and fun if you style it right. Here are some key tips to follow to look camo chic.

1. Keep it Basic – Find one camo item – jacket, bag, shoes. Then keep the rest of your outfit simple like with jeans and a T-shirt.

2. Accessorize – Pair camo with some simple accessories like gold bangles, a chain necklace, or simple hoops.

3. Choose Fitted Pieces – Camo looks better with a feminine feel. So choose pieces that are fitted and show off your shape.

1. Sold Jeans $228 at Bloomingdales

2. J.Crew Jacket $139 at jcrew.com

3. Sneakers $14 at Target
